Please note that these Mental Health Days do not apply to students in the Law School or School of Dentistry. Health Sciences Professional Program students should contact their instructors or program directors for more information on their specific breaks.

Remote and In-person options available. Everyone needs to bring their own device to play. Don't have a team to play with? No worries, sign up as an individual and we will find you a team to join! LOOKING GOOD, MARQUETTE: Art and Writing for Mental Health

The Haggerty Museum of Art and the Ott Memorial Writing Center invite members of the campus community to take time this spring to enjoy art and writing together for mental health. Visit the Haggerty in person or online to find specially selected artworks paired with viewing and writing prompts that promote emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. Planned in coordination with Spring 2021 mental health days — February 9, March 10, April 20, and May 5 — Looking Good, Marquette also celebrates Black History Month, Women's History Month, Poetry Month, and Mental Health Awareness Month.  More information can be found on the website.

Music Focus: Mainly Top 40/EDM/Dance music with a splash of hip-hop and reggaeton.


DJ Todd aka DJ DeJota (Day Ho-tuh)  has been at Marquette University since June of 2009 working in what is now the Center for Engagement and Inclusion then transitioning to the Office of Student Educational Services. DJ currently runs the merit-based scholarship community known as the Marquette University Urban Scholars Program out of Coughlin Hall 125. Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, DJ has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska and a Master of Education in Counselling and Personnel Services degree from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. DJ DeJota has three children: DaJaya (21, Peru State College), MaKayla (12), Darryle the Third (4).

Join Marquette University Student Government's Diversity Equity and Social Justice Committee (DESJ) and Markasa Tucker in reimagining a liberated Milwaukee on May 5th at 5:30 pmMarkasa Tucker is the executive director of Milwaukee's African American Roundtable and a lead organizer of the Liberate MKE Campaign. This virtual discussion centers the Liberate MKE campaign in the broader experience of engaging in activism within the city of Milwaukee. This conversation is open to all; especially students who want to learn more about the social justice work that is currently being done in Milwaukee.

If your office or department has a program, event, or activity that you would like to have included and promoted on our Staycation Days agenda, submit them on our Staycation Event Form.


University leadership recognizes that it can be difficult to manage the anxieties and stress associated with this pandemic. The Mental Health Days will provide undergraduate and graduate students in certain programs the opportunity to rest and recharge while also reducing unnecessary travel. The Counseling Center also has virtual services that are accessible now. Contact the Counseling Center at (414) 288-7172 if you are in need of mental health or counseling services.
