Welcome Back! We’re excited to begin the semester and are sharing some important information to kick start the new year.
Winter O-Fest 1/23-2/3
There are several vacant slots for Winter O-Fest, which begins in its new format staring on Monday, 1/23/23. Instead of a one-day event, we are reserving tables in the Second Floor Lobby of the AMU during peak traffic times over the course of a couple weeks. If you have not yet registered for a table, please contact Dr. Jen Reid about any of the vacant slots.

Student Organization Awards
Student Organization Award nominations are now open. Each year, Student Affairs recognizes the outstanding contributions of student organizations to the Marquette community. We invite students, staff, and faculty to help us celebrate a wonderful year by nominating outstanding programs, officers, advisers, and organizations of the 2022-2023 academic year. Nominations close on February 26 at 11:59pm. See more information on the awards online.
Winter Welcome Carnival
Stop at the Welcome Back Carnival on Saturday, January 21st at 7 pm in the AMU Ballrooms. See how long you can last on the Mechanical Bull. Enjoy many other games as well as free Ian's Pizza!
Organization Renewal
Organization renewal will begin in March, and you’ll be prompted by Presence (our student org platform) in an email to re-register your organization for the 2023-24 academic year. Get your org rosters up to date so that the renewal notice goes to the current officers. Information about how to update your roster can be found here.
MUSG Student Org Funding
Spring funding applications are now open. Applications should be submitted at least 14 days prior to the event/travel. Applications will close on April 22, 2023 (which is two weeks out from the last day an event could occur for spring semester).
Please note the process is as follows:
- Apply for funding (14 days prior to event).
- Committee reviews applications.
- Organization is notified via email if funding was approved and in what amount.
- Hold event/purchase items.
- SAVE ALL RECEIPTS!! (Especially gas receipts if you were approved fuel/mileage funding.)
- Submit your reimbursement with proof of payment within 30 days of event/purchase.

Senior Speaker Nominations
Nominations are now being accepted for the Senior speaker at Spring 2023 Commencement If you know students who represent the Marquette mission and the Class of 2023, nominate them for this role. Nominated students must be graduating or walking the stage in the May 2023 ceremony.
Nominations can be completed online and will be accepted until Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 p.m.
Finalists will be selected during the MUSG spring election in March.
Seeking Seniors’ Input
The Campus Activities team is seeking input on what seniors would like to see for Senior Celebration (tentatively planned for Thursday, May 18). In previous years an outdoor celebration with music and fireworks, senior/family toasts, or excursions to Milwaukee destinations have occurred. Give us your input here.
