What makes Milwaukee a great city to live/go to school?

It is such an advantage to go to school near a larger, diverse city like Milwaukee. The city is an extension of your academic life and your social life at Marquette. You can add to your resume and connect with future potential employers through an internship, find meaningful ways to serve the neighborhood, and explore the Milwaukee sports and cultural scenes with your friends. I attended college near a big city as well, and speaking from firsthand experience, you’ll create memories to last a lifetime and will also build connections to propel you forward after graduation!

Name one reason why you love traveling to your territory.

I like my territory so much, I live here too! I’ve lived in Oak Park for the past 12 years and LOVE this area. There’s no better town than Chicago (except Milwaukee, of course!). I grew up in Florida where it’s always 90 degrees, so I love experiencing Chicago in its’ different seasons—fall is my favorite and Oak Park in the fall is gorgeous! Come visit!

What is one piece of advice you have for college applicants?

Remember that this college search is all about you finding your perfect college fit—academically, financially, socially, etc. Take time to evaluate your authentic self and write down characteristics you feel will align with your core values. If you can, visit every school you are considering! Visiting is hands-down the best way for you to get a true sense as to your best fit. In your search, you’ll eventually find a school that just feels like “home away from home”—go with your gut, and make it the best four years of your life! Hopefully I’ll see you soon as a future Marquette Golden Eagle!

How do you prefer to eat your cheese?

Most definitely fried. Few things in this world are better than fried cheese. I believe that with my whole, cheese-clogged heart.
