The 2019 annual enrollment for benefits began on October 22, 2018 and will run through 4:00 pm on November 9, 2018.

What's New:

For 2019, Marquette is excited to announce that we will have a new online enrollment tool that will be administered by DirectPath for all benefit elections and life insurance beneficiary information.

This enrollment tool will replace MyJob for annual enrollment and will be used for qualifying life events and new hire benefit elections.

Marquette University has partnered with DirectPath Benefit Educators to walk you through the changes in your benefits and enroll you in your selections for 2019.

All benefit eligible employees must schedule an appointment with a Benefits Educator to enroll in benefits for 2019 due to mandatory re-enrollment in the medical, dental and vision benefits.

This is a one-on-one 30 minute telephonic appointment and any information you provide on the call is completely confidential and secure.

There are two ways to schedule your enrollment appointment:

IMPORTANT: You must have your spouse and/or dependent information (Social Security number and date of birth) with you at the time of your appointment. You will not be able to complete your enrollment without this information. You will also need to upload a copy of the birth/adoption and/or marriage certificate for any dependents being enrolled on the Marquette medical, dental or vision insurance.

Due to Online Enrollment Tool functionality, you will be unable to view your benefits enrollment alongside the Benefits Educator. Immediately following your benefits appointment a Statement of Benefits will be emailed to you as your confirmation.

After your appointment, you will be provided detailed instructions on how to navigate the Online Enrollment Tool along with your login information including how to upload any applicable documentation.

You will be able to modify any benefit elections for an effective date of January 1st after your appointment, however, please be aware that all elections are final as of 4pm on November 9th.

Uploading Spouse and/or Dependent Information Into the Online Enrollment Tool

Please visit www.marquette.bswift.com and follow the below instructions to upload qualifying dependent documents.

Human Resources will begin the document verification process after the annual enrollment process closes. All uploaded documents will be addressed and dependents “un-pended” by December 21st. Employees will be contacted by HR if there are any issues surrounding their uploaded document(s). Employees have until 12/31/18 to upload the required documents.

Look for more information on the annual enrollment process in the 2019 Benefits Enrollment Packet that was mailed to your home address listed in MyJob. You should have received this the week of October 15th.



After much consideration, Human Resources has decided to offer a second option for uploading required information into the DirectPath online enrollment tool.

As communicated in previous emails, written material and verbally, an employee who is covering a dependent child or a spouse on either their medical and/or dental and/vision insurance will be required to upload a birth certificate or adoption paperwork for the child or a marriage certificate for a spouse for verification of eligibility.

Human Resources, in conjunction with the Office of General Counsel, has created a second option: an HR signed and witnessed affidavit. There will be a specific affidavit for both a birth certificate/adoption paperwork as well as a marriage certificate. If you elect this option, you will be responsible for filling out the required information prior to coming into Human Resources for official verification. Upon verification, it is the employee’s responsibility to upload the completed affidavit(s) to the DirectPath system by Dec. 31, 2018.

This alternate verification process can only be completed in person and on the dates and times listed below

Dates and times authorized HR personnel will be available:

Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am – 4pm starting on November 5th through December 20, 2018 in Straz Tower Room 185.

To maintain a lifetime of better health, it is important for you to identify your individual risk factors and try to modify your lifestyle as appropriate. By completing a Health Risk Assessment (HRA), you will also receive the 2019 incentive.

Marquette University partnered with Aurora Health Care and Virgin Pulse to oversee the HRA process, including conducting the on-campus biometric screenings and providing educational resources to those individuals whose situation may be in need of medical support. We encourage all employees and spouses to direct questions to Aurora, Virgin Pulse or their primary care provider about their biometric results.

Marquette University launched the NEW Virgin Pulse interactive, personalized wellness portal on July 11, 2018. Visit join.virginpulse.com/MarquetteUniversity to complete the Health Assessment and engage in wellness resources.

The Virgin Pulse wellness portal operates on a points and levels system, allowing you to earn points for engaging in activities of your choice here at Marquette University or on the portal. The 2019 incentive is based on earning up to 15,000 points for qualifying wellness activities which includes but is not limited to completion of the biometric screening (9,000 points), Virgin Pulse platform registration (1,000 points) and Virgin Pulse online health assessment (5,000 points).

1. The first step is a biometric screening which is a simple finger stick blood test that will analyze your cholesterol, HDL and glucose. The results are available in about 15 minutes. Blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and body mass index will also be recorded. You have three options for completing this step:

Option 1: Schedule your 15-minute Aurora Health Care screening appointment. Scheduling of these appointments will be available starting in late September.

Option 2: Have lab work completed by your Primary Care Provider between July 1, 2018 and November 17, 2018.  Fax those results to Aurora Health Care at 414-525-2570 by 12 p.m. on November 17, 2018 using the Primary Care Provider Form below. There is a spot on the form to include your email address, so you can receive confirmation from Aurora once this is received.  Please make sure to send in your Authorization for Disclosure with your results.

Option 3: Complete a comparable Biometric Screening at your spouse’s employer-sponsored HRA screening and fax your results to Aurora Health Care at 414-525-2570 by 12 p.m. on November 17, 2018. Please make sure to send in your Authorization for Disclosure with your results.

2. The second step is to complete an online health assessment by 4 p.m. on November 19, 2018. The online health assessment is accessible on our NEW Virgin Pulse wellness portal; join.virginpulse.com/MarquetteUniversity, which launched on July 11, 2018.

Once logged in, you should be prompted to take the online health risk assessment.  It can also be found under “Programs.“
