Apply for Public Health & Equity Fellowship

Apply to be part of the 2020-2021 Public Health and Equity Fellowship Program.



  • Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students or  full-time graduate students for the academic year of 2020-2021 at Marquette University.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and have the appropriate documentation.
  • Applicants must have identified a faculty mentor willing to work with the student on a COVID-19 or health equity research related to racial injustice.


  • One-page letter of interest in the Fellowship program. The letter of interest should include a discussion of the  preferred potential project the student wants to undertake.
  • Nomination letter from faculty mentor showing availability and willingness to work with the student on a research program (preferred). If the student has not found a mentor, then a letter of support may come from a faculty member or sponsor familiar with the student.
  • 1-2 page resume

A total of 14 students (11 undergraduate and 3 graduate)  are anticipated to participate the 2020-2021 Fellowship program. Selection will be based on student’s complete submission of the requirements, student commitment to positive social change and research on public health and equity, and the strength of their mentor and nomination letter by a research mentor. A committee will approve the selection of the fellows.
