Q: I am trying to upload a document to D2L, but it's not working. What am I doing wrong?

A: It could be the name of the file. Make sure it has the appropriate three letter file extension ("filename.pdf" or "filename.docx", etc.) at the end of it.

Also make sure the filename doesn't have special characters.

Avoid

  • slashes ("/")
  • ampersands ("&")
  • colons (":")
  • question marks
  • quotation marks
  • pound signs or hash marks ("#")
  • asterisks
  • When uploading files to the web, it is best to use only alpha-numeric characters, underscores and dashes in the names. Remember to include the file extension. Thus, "sacco & vanzetti.docx" and "sacco and vanzetti" will not work. "sacco_and_vanzetti.docx" will.
