ITS was in progress of deploying Microsoft Teams meetings on a college by college/department by department basis. With the events of the past week we are accelerating deployment of Teams meetings and will migrate the campus this weekend. This change will provide improved functionality over Skype for Business meetings for those teaching remotely, as well as those working remotely.

The principle advantages of Teams meetings are:

Teams meetings has the same look and feel when scheduling via Microsoft Outlook.

When the conversions are complete, you will see a Teams meeting icon in your Outlook ribbon, replacing the Skype for Business icon.

After the conversation you will only be able to schedule Teams Meetings i.e. you can no longer schedule Skype for Business meetings. However, you can still attend Skype for Business Meetings.

All of your currently scheduled meetings will be automatically converted to Teams meetings. There will be a new call in number and conference ID when the existing meetings are converted.
