8.0 cubic feet consisting of 170 reels of 16mm black and white film
This collection consists of 16mm black and white film of Milwaukee area news events produced by an outside contractor employed by WISN-TV (Channel 12). Boxes 1-6 contain 71 reels of film identified by date (May 1956-December 1961), arranged chronologically; in most instances subject content is not identified; the reels of film vary in diameter from approximately 8-10 inches. Box 7 contains 91 reels of film identified by subject or title of news feature, arranged alphabetically by subject; dates are not identified; the reels of film vary in diameter from approximately 3-4 inches and are stored in 6 containers (labeled 1-6) within the box. Box 8 contains 8 reels of film identified by subject, arranged alphabetically by subject; in most instances dates are not identified; the reels vary in diameter from approximately 6-12 inches.
NOTE: Films are mounted on spools rather than reels and, therefore, cannot be shown on a standard film projector.
The collection was acquired on February 12, 1987 from the Marquette University College of Journalism, Room 427 Johnston Hall, via Arthur L. Olszyk, Assistant Professor of Journalism.
