The Digital Scholarship Lab is located on the lower-level of Raynor Memorial Libraries. The Lab offers a reservable Media Editing Room for media projects, a Virtual Reality Room, an open classroom with a large flat panel display, a Mac Lab loaded with Adobe CC, media equipment, and other technology available to loan. Please contact staff for more information on reserving and using specific spaces within the lab.

Augmented Reality Sandbox

Playing in the sandbox is no longer simply for kids. The augmented reality sandbox is a hands-on exhibit that utilizes the Microsoft Kinect's motion and depth sensor to display an elevation color map, topographic contour lines, and simulated water. Mold the sand by hand or use some of the sandbox toys and the landscape comes to life in real time! The sandbox is available 10am-6pm, Monday through Friday or by appointment. Microsoft Surface Hub

The Microsoft Surface Hub is a large, touchscreen, interactive, reservable monitor space. It can be reserved for use by up to 2 students at a time to assist in study groups, presentation preparation, and can be used to test out exhibits or other applications.

DSLab workshops and orientations are taught here! This space has 12 flexible tables, 6 moveable whiteboards, a large flat panel display and a projector.

Media Equipment Borrowing Desk

Check out media equipment from voice recorders to iPhone chargers. Staff are available to help with equipment questions and concerns.

Mac Lab

Mac computers are located in the Lab for media projects. These machines include Adobe CC, iMovie, GarageBand and more.

PC Pod

Working on a media project doesn't mean you have to be a "Mac" Person. Our pod of PC computers are loaded with Adobe CC as well as Movie Maker and Power BI.

Media Editing Room

The Media Editing Room is a reservable space dedicated for digital media projects. This room includes workstations for both Mac and PC platforms, both with an array of software. The room also contains a microphone in addition to sound recording equipment that can be checked out at the Media Equipment Borrowing Desk.

Virtual Reality Room

The Virtual Reality Room is a place that provides students and faculty a way to experience and experiment with virtual reality as a way to further enhance theirlearning and teaching. Virtual reality is a great way to simulate different environments or to create three-dimensional, virtual visualizations that aren't possible in the real world.
