LIBRARY CLASSES, TOURS, AND WORKSHOPS

Librarians offer course-related instruction tailored to the needs of specific classes or assignments. These faculty-initiated sessions are generally held in Raynor Library's computer classrooms, located on the second level. Consult the list of subject specialist librarians to find out which librarian to contact directly.

LIBRARY TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE

The Learning Commons provides a variety of desktop applications and peripherals for academic purposes. This equipment and software is supported by the Student Technical Assistants service whose service goals are to assist patrons with beginning-to intermediate-level technical support issues. Given the number of applications available, the Student Technical Assistants staff cannot provide advanced tech support on a walk-in basis. We will however endeavor to provide referrals or arrange an appointment for you to meet with someone who may be more knowledgeable. The Student Technical Assistants will guide patrons, offer advice on methods to maximize application functionality, and perform tasks as a demonstration of a function; however, staff will not complete a patron's work. During busy periods at the desk, priority will be given to short and urgent problems over in-depth training. Patrons who are novices with a software package should allow an appropriate amount of time to become familiar with the package and to complete their own work.
