Meeting organizers and instructors can appoint presenters to help manage Breakout Rooms in a Teams meeting. Breakout Rooms managers can assist with the following tasks:

• Add and delete Breakout Rooms
• Recreate Breakout Rooms
• Assign and reassign participants to Breakout Rooms
• Open and close Breakout Rooms
• Join any Breakout Rooms
• Set time limits for Breakout Rooms sessions
• Send announcements to Breakout Rooms
  
  

 

Appointing Breakout Rooms Managers before the Meeting

1. Go to Teams Calendar to access the meeting event. Double-click the meeting event to fully open the meeting and see its details.
2. Click or tap the Breakout Rooms tab.
   
   
   
   
3. Click or tap the Room settings gear icon.
   
   
   
   
4. Turn on "Assign presenters to manage rooms."
   
   
   
   
5. The "Search for presenters" field lets you select the down arrow to reveal a drop-down menu of presenters to choose from. Or you can type in names to filter and select from those individually invited to the meeting.
   
   
   
   
6. After selecting Breakout Rooms managers, click or tap the "x" icon in the upper-right corner to save. 
   
   

Appointing Breakout Rooms Managers during the Meeting

1. On the meeting controls bar, click or tap the Breakout Rooms icon.
   
   
   
   
2. Select the Room settings gear icon.
