2018 Federal Income Tax Information, Parent & Student

This is not a downloadable form.

The 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) was revised to make the form easier to complete and to improve the accuracy of the information provided on the form. For the 2020–21 FAFSA, students (and parents, as appropriate) will report their tax year 2018 income information.

Student Information

If you are selected for Verification, Marquette University is required to confirm your tax information. Students can use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT) on the FAFSA by selecting Link to IRS to automatically transfer tax information to the FAFSA and to the University. If you are not eligible to use the IRS DRT, you must submit a signed copy of your 2018 Federal IRS Tax Return Transcript (TRT).

Parent Information

If you are selected for Verification, Marquette University is also required to confirm your parent(s) tax information. Parent(s) can use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT) on the FAFSA by selecting Link to IRS to automatically transfer tax information to the FAFSA and to the University. If your parent(s) are not eligible to use the IRS DRT, they must submit a signed copy of their 2018 Federal IRS Tax Return Transcript (TRT).

NOTE: If your parent(s) did not file a 2018 federal tax return and you receive notice you have been selected for verification, you must obtain documentation from the IRS that your parent(s) did not file.
