In January 2008, the Marquette University Center for Peacemaking opened its doors for the first time. This marked the first academic center at Marquette (and at any Catholic university in the nation) expressly committed to exploring the power of nonviolence.
Ten years later, the Center’s impact is clear. Peace education has transformed the lives of Marquette students, and Marquette peacemaking initiatives have addressed indignities in communities locally and around the globe.
These achievements are only possible because of the many students, alumni, community members, faculty, and staff who have joined us in advancing this important mission.
For the next year, from May 2018 to May 2019, we invite you to participate in our 10-year anniversary campaign. Through this campaign we will share some of our favorite stories of the Center’s impact over the past ten years, as well as how you can support the Center’s mission and work for years to come.
To ensure that you receive content and event notices for the campaign, please subscribe to the Center’s e-newsletter and follow us on social media.
We look forward to sharing stories and memories with you, and we want to hear from you if you have a story that connects to any of these themes.
Thank you for being a part of our vibrant community of peacemakers! It’s an honor to celebrate the memories and successes of the past ten years with you.
