Catholic Relief Services, the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the US, assists and responds to major emergencies, alleviates poverty, and nurtures peaceful and just societies in 101 countries around the world.
The Global Campus partnership gives students and faculty high-level access to CRS' vast array of international projects, experts, and resources — augmenting Marquette's commitment to forming men and women for others through education, prayer, giving, and action.
Ultimately, the partnership advances Marquette's mission and vision to be among the most innovative and accomplished Catholic and Jesuit universities in the world, promoting the greater glory of God and the well-being of humankind.
Marquette University has long supported the mission and work of Catholic Relief Services and in 2013 began to pursue a more formal partnership. Aligning with the Southeastern Wisconsin Initiative for CRS, the Center for Peacemaking developed programs to engage Marquette students, faculty, and staff with CRS.
These initial efforts grew into a strong institutional collaboration with Marquette's signing onto the CRS Global Campus agreement. Marquette was one of the first five universities in the nation to enter this agreement.
