MilwaukeeWI53201United States of America(414) 288-3383laurie.kontney@marquette.eduLaurie received her bachelor of science degree in physical therapy at the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1986, her master of science degree in physical therapy with an emphasis in acute neurological conditions and education at the Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School (now Rosalind Franklin University) in 1995 and her transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Simmons College in Boston in 2006. Laurie joined the Marquette faculty in 1994 as a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Director of Clinical Education. She continues to work in the clinic in the areas of adult inpatient acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and sub-acute care.
Laurie is an active member of both the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association (WPTA) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She currently serves as the Program Chair for the Education Section of the APTA and is a delegate and Director for the WPTA. She also serves as the WPTA/APTA advisor to the DPT students.
