Catherine Valentyn graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Upon graduation, she became a certified hand therapist and worked several years in that capacity for Milwaukee area Hand Surgeons. During that time, she also started a family with her husband, Tom. After the birth of their 5th child, she returned to school and graduated from Marquette University’s Master of Physician Assistant Studies program in 2004. Catherine has 15 years’ experience in Family Medicine - having worked 10 years for Waukesha Family Practice Clinic and the last 5 years in her current position at Northwestern Mutual’s Employee Health Clinic in downtown Milwaukee. Catherine also volunteers at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, a free clinic, in Waukesha and recently joined the MU PA program as adjunct faculty working with the students at the Repairers of the Breach and Walker’s Point Medical Clinics. Catherine is passionate about patient care and enjoys working with students in the clinical setting. She is grateful to MU for the topnotch education she received and feels privileged to give back as adjunct faculty.
