Jamee C

I am from Atlanta, Georgia, and a first year graduate student in the clinical psychology doctoral program. I graduated from Georgia State University in 2016, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with departmental distinction. Opportunities in research led to an interest in adolescent development, and as an undergrad, I had the privilege of working with mothers to inform them of age-appropriate ways to discuss peer-pressure, sexuality, and HIV prevention with their teens.

At Marquette, under the mentorship of Drs. John Grych and Astrida Kaugars, my research focuses on promoting resilience in adolescents more broadly. I am particularly interested in understanding risk and protective factors for healthy adolescent development in minorities, and developing culturally-informed, school-based interventions to build resilience in these populations.

When I am not at school, I enjoy trying new restaurants, reading thrillers, cooking, and binge-watching my favorite TV shows on Netflix.
