I am from Palos Verdes, California, and a first year graduate student in the clinical psychology doctoral program. I graduated magna cum laude with Distinction in Psychology from Southern Methodist University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Sociology.

While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I worked as a research assistant for Dr. Ernest Jouriles in the Family Research Center. I assisted the team design, implement, and assess a bystander prevention program aimed to reduce dating and sexual violence among high school and college students. In addition, my distinction project used an innovative new methodological approach using virtual reality technology to observationally measure high-school students’ bystander behavior.

Currently, I am a research assistant for Dr. John Grych and I am broadly interested in researching how to enhance youth functioning and future life outcomes through the development of prevention/intervention programs for victims of family violence and abuse. Outside of Psychology, I enjoy cooking, reading novels, going to the gym, and spending time outdoors.
