Renee DeBoard

I graduated from Marquette’s Ph.D program in 2011 and am currently
completing a 2-year clinical fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. My
clinical interest is childhood trauma, and I’m enjoying my work at the
hospital with youth who have experienced burns and various other types
of trauma. My research interests include resilience in children who
have been witnessed domestic violence. Research generally focuses on
problems that develop in children who live in violent homes and has
not examined factors that may help children adapt in positive ways. My
master's examined several factors that have been suggested to help
children do well despite exposure to violence and my dissertation
examined factors that may affect children’s understanding of this type
of violence. My hope is that this information may help children
learn more effective ways of managing conflict they experience
