Claire Oxtoby

I am currently in my fourth year of the clinical psychology doctoral program. My research and clinical interests fall within the trauma scope. Specifically, I am interested in what factors mediate the effects of traumatic experiences on both children and adults at the individual, familial, and environmental levels. I have just completed data collection on my dissertation, which examines how cultural values and beliefs influence women's perceptions of domestic violence and their subsequent emotional and behavioral responses. This project has been an amazing experience and I look forward with anticipation to exploring its findings. I graduated from Purdue University with a B.A. in psychology and UNCW with an M.A. in psychology. I've loved my time in Milwaukee, getting to know this city and enjoying all the great things it has to offer!
