1st Lieutenant Joi Renée L. Abarintos is an Assistant Professor for Aerospace Studies for the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at Marquette University Detachment 930. She is tasked to recruit, educate, train, motivate, select and commission officer candidates through a comprehensive college program. She provides academic instruction on fundamental Air Force doctrine, practical leadership experience, and extensive field training, emphasizing physical fitness and officership to prepare future officers for active duty.

Lieutenant Abarintos is a 2015 graduate of Loyola University Chicago and earned a commission through Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. She has served in the Global Positioning Systems Directorate as a launch integration engineer and subsequently launch integration lead. Prior to arriving at Detachment 930, Lieutenant Abarintos was the project officer for booster propulsion technology maturation in the Advanced Systems and Development Directorate at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California.
