Description of Agency/Activities: The Milwaukee Tennis and Education Foundation (MTEF) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to improve the lives and futures of Milwaukee youth through tennis, education and mentoring. We believe that circumstances do not determine destiny and that sports may be used as a vehicle for social change. MTEF provides a pipeline of tennis programming, from beginner lessons in the schools, to summer camps across the city, to year-round programming for our most dedicated youngsters. While kids learn valuable life lessons from tennis, we make sure to address the whole child by emphasizing academics, fitness, nutrition, and life skills.

Service Learners will assist by providing tutoring for our high performance youth ages 9-18. This program takes place in Cramer Hall Room 038 on Sundays between 11:00-2:00 p.m. Our students typically receive tennis lessons at Helfaer on Fridays from 6-8 p.m., tutoring and tennis on Sundays, and mentoring bimonthly at the Sherman Park Boys and Girls Club.
