Wisconsin Study Abroad Re-entry Conference

All students returning from a term abroad, regardless of institution, are invited and encouraged to attend the conference. The conference has been designed through collaboration among public and private institutions across the state of Wisconsin.

 

MU Study Abroad Returnee Series
Fall 2009
OIE Program Center (AMU 407)

This series is designed collaboratively between Marquette’s Office of International Education and other relevant offices on campus, to focus on topics specific to students who have recently returned from a semester abroad.

Study Abroad Returnee Series: Navigating Re-entry ("Return Culture Shock")

This session focuses on reactions to re-entry, commonly known as "return culture shock,” how one might go about responding to these reactions, and resources on campus that you might find helpful.

Study Abroad Returnee Series: Maintaining Language Proficiency Post Study Abroad

This session focuses on maintaining language skills when you are back at home.

Study Abroad Returnee Series: Social Justice Post Study Abroad

This session focuses on getting involved in cross-cultural social justice activities in our own community.

Study Abroad Returnee Series: "What I Wish I Knew as a Freshman"

A regular brown-bag series for prospective students who are interested in study abroad.  This session focuses on sharing information with prospective study abroad students - especially tips that only a returnee would know.

Study Abroad Returnee Series: Heading overseas again post graduation
Wednesday, November 4
This session focuses on opportunities to live or work overseas after graduation.
