Beginning fall 2015, the Marquette en Madrid semester study abroad program will transition to new Jesuit partners.
This new model was developed after conducting focus groups with students returning from Madrid during the past few years. This change will allow for many more Marquette students to study and gain a once-in-a-lifetime global experience in the heart of one of Europe's greatest cultural capitals reflecting Marquette’s desire to be responsive to student needs.
In the spirit of Father Nicolas’s call to enhance Jesuit educational collaboration, Marquette will provide new opportunities for student mobility at The University of Comillas and Saint Louis University. These universities will enable students from a broad range of disciplines to study in Spain, including communication, nursing and engineering. Spanish majors and minors interested in a language-focused immersion experience will attend the University of Comillas Cantoblanco campus.

The Marquette en Madrid Spanish language and culture summer program will continue in its current format, with students being led by Marquette faculty. As with all of Marquette’s summer faculty-led programs, undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university are eligible to apply and will receive a Marquette transcript.
