Universidad Iberoamericana is a private institution inspired by Christian values that is open to all faiths and nationalities. Jesuits established the university in 1943 with a School of Philosophy and Literature. The university moved to its modern campus in Mexico City in 1988, and now has campuses in Tijuana, Torreon, Guadalajara, Leon, and Puebla.
The University has more than 9,000 undergraduate students of which 300 are international. There are 1,900 faculty members to ensure students benefit from personal attention. The university system allows for interdisciplinary study in the areas of Art, Sciences, Religious Sciences, Political and Social Sciences, Economics, Business, Philosophy, History, and Literature.
The University offers laboratories and workshops on different areas such as chemistry, photography, physics, psychology, engineering, design, nutrition, etc. It also offers other facilities such as health services, cafeterias, auditorium, bookstore, stationary shop, recreational areas and a sports center (for tennis, baseball, volleyball, soccer, chess, handcrafts and sculpture, choir, and social service). Additionally, the university’s library houses more than 204,000 volumes, 1,400 publications and references, and a wide collection of slides, videotapes and music tapes.
