Will my financial aid transfer?
Because this is a Marquette-exchange program, most financial aid generally applies. To learn more about how this program will affect your specific financial aid package, please see the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Your classmates will come from Germany, other European countries and the rest of the world.
How many classes are taken per semester, on average?
The number of classes can range from 4 to 5 depending on the program.
How many credits can I earn?
The number of credits for these classes range from one to five credits each, depending of the program.
What subjects are offered?
History, Political Science, Sociology, German language, International Business, Theology, Philosophy, Psychology, Math, Economics, Business Ethics, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources are among the courses offered. A completelist of classes can be obtained from Dr. Hosseini.
Will my grades transfer? What are passing grades?
Grades do not tranfer, but you will need a 2.7 or lower in order for your credits to transfer. Eichstätt grades are on a 4.0 scale, with 1.3 or less being the best, equivalent to a Marquette A. 1.7-2.0 is an AB, 2.3-2.5 is a B, and 2.7-3.5 is a C/BC.
Where will I live?
Eichstätt consists of two campuses. You will be staying in Ingolstadt. A university housing service is available to aid you in finding accommodations. Options are available from dorms to apartments. Contact Dr. Hosseini at 288-5151 for more information.

For the fall semester, Eichstätt offers a German intensive program for three weeks. Along with intensive German teaching, there are numerous non-academic trips. The course will help you to get to know Eichstätt and other students.

What is public transportation like?
Eichstätt is situated in an area of rolling hills and valleys which has been designated a national park. It lies in the middle of Bavaria, 70 miles north of Munich.
A public transportation network, available to students at no cost, connects the whole area and opens its vast cultural offerings to each of its inhabitants
How do I get around?
Train and Euroline (bus) will be very good transportation tools for you to get around. German Federal Railways equal or surpass almost any other system in Europe today. Trains are said to be punctual, clean, and comfortable. Most fares are set up to be more costly for short trips. You can save money with the Eurailpass, or by taking second class. Buy your international railway tickets and railway agency coupons outside of Germany to save money. For more information on German railpasses, see the Let's Go Web site.
What will the weather be like?
Germany has a temperate climate with warm summers and cold winters. The warmest time of the year is from May to September. The average temperature in July, for instance, varies from 61° to 68° F according to location. In January, the variation is from 21° to 34° F. There is no specific rainy season.
What is the cost of living compared to the United States?
As of June 2005, the exchange rate was 1.00 USD for 0.83 Euro, so expect to pay a bit more than you would in the U.S. The German unit of currency is the Euro. Credit cards are accepted in about half of all businesses, so it's a good idea to carry cash or Eurocheques.
How can I find out more about the city?
Visit the online Eichstätt guide.
