Founded in 1527, Philipps Universität-Marburg originally set forth its goal as educating “learned, able and God-fearing persons, preachers and officials for Christian benefit and the good of the common land”. Over time, however, the university has expanded into 19 departments employing an impressive 2,000 academic staff and educating over 17,000 students. The university offers a wide variety of different subjects that students can study in numerous combinations, including Languages, Social Sciences, Law, Economics and Medicine, among others.

Class and Credit Info:
On average students take 5 courses per semester. The number of credits for these classes range from 1 to five credits each depending of the program.
Grading System:
Marburg University has a different Grading Scale than Marquette. The Grading Scale is from 1 to 6, with 1 being the highest grade. Students will transfer credits back to Marquette for those classes where the student received a grade of 4 or better. Please note that students will only transfer the credits and not the grades from these classes.
