Through Future Milwaukee, organizations benefit because participants:
Future Milwaukee’s mission is to develop leaders that will give back to their community and make lasting, positive contributions. Your particular community will benefit in many ways including the use of your enhanced leadership skills, your increased community contacts, your knowledge of leading and working with teams, and your experience in working on community projects.
Future Milwaukee works with many different organizations to help you find the right niche. The Volunteer Center of Milwaukee will find group opportunities for service if you wish to continue working with your Future Milwaukee classmates after graduation. Board Star is an online service that helps match your skills and interests to open seats on boards. Project Ripple Effect also provides a website with many volunteer opportunities. It is also not uncommon that our graduates have been asked to serve on the boards of their project partner not-for-profit agency.
By participating in the nine-month Future Milwaukee program, you will complete an approved project with a nonprofit agency partner. This experience can be incorporated into a scholarly paper and one of several capstone project options for the master of arts in public service or master in leadership studies offered through Marquette University's College of Professional Studies.
