The College of Professional Studies

Mission statement

Our purpose is to provide diverse adult learners with a values-based education that results in a commitment to competently, courageously and ethically applying themselves to the conscious, effective, lifelong transformation of their professional situations and personal lives.

With an emphasis on ethical leadership, Marquette's College of Professional Studies was established in 1993 to meet the unique educational needs of adult learners. Today, the college serves adult students through a variety of degree and non-degree programs.

  • Graduate degrees and certificates — leadership studies, public service, dispute resolution, law enforcement leadership and management. Graduate programs feature personalized advising, convenient scheduling (weeknight or Saturday classes with an online component) and a traditional 16-week semester format.
  • Exam prep courses — Law School Admission test (LSAT), the national Professional in Human Resources (PHR) exam, or the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) exam prep courses will give you a competitive edge.
  • Non-credit continuing education — Certificate in human resources management, writing and math workshops, and other continuing education to help sharpen the skills essential for success.
  • Future Milwaukee leadership program — Nine-month development program to enhance leadership skills, develop a deeper understanding of community issues and get practical experience in implementing community solutions. For more than 30 years, Future Milwaukee has trained adult students who are committed to creating positive change in the city.
