EVALUATING & CHANGING ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE 1.5 CEUs
Presenter: Dr. James Schreier
Fee: $635
This Performance Lab, based on assessing and changing an organization’s culture will provide participants with an opportunity to:
Understand organizational culture and its relationship to quality, customer service, retention, and profitability.
- Identify the components of a positive – or negative – organizational culture.
- Learn ways to assess organizational culture and effectiveness.
- Evaluate the impact of a decision to change an organization’s culture.
Organizational culture has grown in importance in the last few years, as organizations have realized its importance in organizational success. Organizational culture, the underlying behavioral expectations of employees –what they need to do to “fit in,” has been proven to be related to quality, customer service, profitability, stress, and retention. The best of corporate initiatives have failed because the culture didn’t support the desire for change.

- Conduct a retention audit of a key staff position.
- Plan and conduct a recognition interview.
- Identify a reward and recognition strategy.
- Identify and select assessment strategies for development.
This course will not be offered in the Spring.
This Performance Lab, based on high level team assessment and simulation will provide participants with an opportunity to:
- Identify expectations for team performance.
- Participate in a high quality, “monitored” team simulation.
- Evaluate specific team performance.
- Identify a model for continually monitoring team performance.
This is not an introduction to team building. It is not focused on getting people to “understand each other better and cooperate.” It is based on creating high performing teams. Participants may be individuals desiring to build high performing teams by getting high level feedback. It is an ideal program for intact teams that want to specific feedback on their performance to refresh team skills or move to a higher level of performance.
This course will not be offered in the Spring.
This Performance Lab, based on Joel Barker’s Strategic Exploration Tools®, is designed to teach individuals a specific process for “exploring the future.” According to futurist Joel Barker, it is a “leader’s responsibility to take care of the future.” T.I.P.S. Teams is a process for “early spotting the things we should be looking for.” Participants will:
- Spot Trends, Innovations, and Paradigm Shifts.
- Create a team process for regularly identifying T.I.P.S.
- Interrogate Trends, Innovations, and Paradigm Shifts using a structured process.
- Develop a model for applying T.I.P.S. Teams to their own organizations.
In Joel Barker’s “Leadershift,” he argues that leaders should spend the majority of their time “taking care of the future.” Unfortunately, most don’t. As noted management guru remarked for decades, most managers spend too much time “fighting fires.” This program teaches the value and a process for “exploring the future” with specific applications to participants’ organizations. An outstanding program for individuals interested in learning more about how to “explore the future" and for a team of participants from a specific organization.
This course will not be offered in the Spring.
