TECHNOLOGY: TOOLS YOU USE EVERYDAY 1.5 CEUs
Everyone in business uses a computer as a primary tool yet many users look at this technology as an intruder disrupting their business day. To some it's a love/hate relationship. This course will give you the knowledge and insight of your businesses main tool by taking a fun and interesting look at how a computer, Microsoft Windows, PDFs, MS Office Suite, and a Web site can have a great affect in your workplace when understood and used to its fullest potential. Having the right tools and understanding them is what this class is all about. Be as proficient as you can be by learning the many tricks, features, and shortcuts hidden throughout this fascinating toolbox called technology.
Web sites can be an excellent business tool. Learn how easy it is to build a site that is simple yet effective. Did you know that 70% of designing a site is in the planning? To get the most out of the course; diagram how your site should be linked (hierarchy) before the first day of class. E-mail the instructor for more information. Even if you don't need a Web site, this portion of the course will be an interesting look at what a Web site's substance really is.
This course will focus on which program (tool) does what best; understand how Windows works behind the scenes with those programs and the many features that can help with time, efficiency and organization; Web sites and the impact one once can have on a business; using your keyboard more efficiently by using keystrokes instead of grabbing that evasive mouse (a self-discipling action); working in a familiar environment and letting you and your business be more comfortable with this concept.
