The POWER Lunch series is back for its second year. Once again we will gather to network with professionals in various career fields, hear real stories and experiences from experts representing diverse cultures, and enjoy free lunch.

Each month we focus on various career fields plus diverse cultural, social, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Topics covered will include career information specific to each professional’s area of expertise and a focus on real experiences including stories of challenge and success.

Program Schedule

  1. 11:55 a.m.
    Attendees begin arriving and getting their lunches
  2. 12:00 p.m.
    Welcome and introduction by a member of either the Career Services or the Office of Intercultural Programs
  3. 12:05 p.m.
    Introduction of panelists covering background, career goals, and experiences as they relate to each panelist's diverse cultural, social, ethnic, or religious background.
  4. 12:25 p.m.
    Open for questions
  5. 12:55 p.m.
    Closing remarks and people head back to class and work

This program has the following objectives:

  1. Offer real stories and experiences from experts regarding career fields and cultural differences as they relate to student career success.
  2. Attune students of color into career opportunities and services offered by the Career Services Center.
  3. Engage students from majority groups in dialog regarding differences in diverse cultural, social, ethnic and religious backgrounds.
  4. Allow representatives from organizations to share career opportunities including internships and full-time jobs with students.

The intended audience is all students with an added appeal to those from particular cultural heritages during specific months. Faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni are also invited to attend.

This monthly program is a collaborative effort between the Career Services Center.
