Millions of Americans invest in mutual funds and individual stocks — millions more count on the dividends of retirement plans. Corporations raise and invest billions of dollars of capital annually. At the heart of it all are financial professionals, who analyze and maximize the value of investments for individual families, as well as multinational firms.

Do finance.

Marquette is home to one of the nation's only undergraduate programs in applied investment management, which allows a select group of finance majors to get hands-on academic and professional experience investing, including actively managing portfolios during their senior year. Finance majors study the body of knowledge covered in the Certified Financial Analyst I exam, preparing them to take the test after graduation.

Internships.

More than half of our finance majors have at least one paid internship.

Get two degrees in five years.

Through the Master of Science in Finance program with an Advanced Degree Program (ADP) option, students may complete up to 9 graduate graduates as an undergraduate finance major and complete the master’s program in a fifth year.

Location, location, location.

Milwaukee is home to more than a dozen investment firms, each with more than $1 billion in managed assets, plus dozens of banks, insurers and corporate headquarters, making it a great place to be a finance major.
