Founded in
1965, the Madrid Study Center will immerse you in
the language and culture
of a beautiful, exciting and historic European city. You will experience the city in its natural
glory through exploring places like the Parque del Retiro, a favorite
spot for Study Center students.
Shop in the markets and small stores, sample Spanish cuisine at cafés,
tapas bars and restaurants. Live the culture through the many festivals,
theatre, music, dance and other entertainment offered. And you can
do all of this easily and affordably with Madrid’s excellent
mass transit system.
Immerse Yourself
You will get to know Spanish students just like you! Through
the Study Center’s optional intercambios (language exchanges),
you will have the opportunity to interact with Spanish students studying
English at the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras. And if that’s
not enough, lace up your tennies and join the Club de Deportes where
you’ll be able to participate in university intramural soccer,
rugby, basketball and other sports.
Throughout your learning experience and adventure in
Spain, Marquette Study Center staff will provide you with personal
attention from your initial inquiry through the program, to reacclimating
upon your return back to the States.
The Marquette Study Center
The Marquette Study Center makes its
home within the Universidad Complutense
de Madrid — one of Spain’s
largest and most prestigious universities. As a student, you’ll
be able to integrate yourself into the campus life through daily contact
with Spanish faculty, students and staff. You’ll also have complete
usage of Complutense’s facilities—libraries, computers,
sports fields and cafeterias—as well as cultural and academic
events sponsored by the university and its affiliates.
