Five-Year Advanced Degree Programs

ADP-Applied Statistics Program

Statistics is the science of data utilizing a principled foundation in mathematics with applications in many fields such as social sciences, engineering, business, biomedical sciences and economics. The five-year ADP-APST program, B.A./B.S. and M.S. in Applied Statistics, is intended for students who have some mathematical background (not necessarily in statistics) that want to develop strong data analytic skills to answer complex, real world problems.

ADP-Bioinformatics Program

Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that merges biology, computer science, and statistics to analyze and interpret complex biological data. The five-year ADP-Bioinformatics program, which awards both a B.A./B.S. and an M.S. in Bioinformatics, is designed for students interested in data science with a focus on biological and biomedical applications. This accelerated program is particularly well-suited for students aiming to pursue careers at the intersection of biology and data science. To qualify, students must maintain a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.00 and have completed foundational coursework in biology, genetics, and software design by the end of their junior year. Participants in the program receive early admission to the Graduate School and begin taking approved graduate courses during their senior undergraduate year, with credits counting towards both undergraduate and graduate degree requirements. This integrated approach allows students to efficiently complete their studies while gaining advanced expertise in bioinformatics.

STEM-MBA Program

The STEM-MBA Program allows students to earn both an undergraduate degree in a technical field and an MBA in just five years. Currently, the MSSC department is working in conjunction with the Graduate School of Management to help students obtain the following degree combinations:
