Ethnic Alumni Association (EAA) Ralph H. Metcalfe, Sr., Scholarship

The intent of the scholarship is to provide up to three Marquette students of color with gifts of up to $2,000 each for the next academic year. The scholarship is designed to aid students of color who demonstrate financial need and Marquette values. One scholarship will be awarded to an Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) student and one to a non-EOP student. The third scholarship will be awarded based on recommendations from the selection committee.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Be African American, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Hispanic or Asian.
  • Be currently enrolled at Marquette University and maintain full-time undergraduate status in 2012-13.
  • Have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on a scale of 4.0.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Submit the online application and all support materials by Wednesday, February 15, 2012.

The EAA selection committee, in conjunction with the Office of Student Financial Aid, administers this scholarship. Please note: students receiving tuition remission or full-tuition scholarships are not eligible for this award.

  • College Work & Volunteer Experience, Statement and Essay – Using this Word document form, please complete the sections about your college work and volunteer experiences, a brief statement, and essay. The completed Word document form must be emailed to taylor.schult@marquette.edu by Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
  • Letter of Recommendation – One letter of recommendation must be submitted by an instructor or work/volunteer supervisor (note: instructor/supervisor cannot be a student). The letter must be emailed directly your instructor/supervisor to taylor.schult@marquette.edu no later than Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
