Wisconsin Visually Handicapped/Hearing Impaired Program Grant

Eligibility criteria

  1. Resident of Wisconsin as determined by State of Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB)
  2. Undergraduate
  3. Must demonstrate financial need
  4. Have sight or hearing impairment as certified by a physician and approved by the Higher Educational Aids Board

Amounts and selection process

Grants range from $250-$1,800 per academic year. The State of Wisconsin funds the program, selects eligible students and determines the amount of each student's grant.

Application process

  1. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
  2. Submit a Visually Handicapped/Hearing-impaired Certificate form to HEAB. Forms available from HEAB.

Renewal process

Grant is renewed when application is complete and eligibility requirements are met while funding is still available. Hearing/Visually Impaired Student Grant Application must be completed each year. Grant can be received for a maximum of 10 terms.
