Performing Arts Living-Learning Community

The McCormick Hall Performing Arts Living Learning Community (The PAC) is a living learning program open to first-year students with an interest in the performing arts, providing students with the opportunity to interact with others who share similar interests in a welcoming environment.

Experience in or exposure to the performing arts (music, theater, dance, etc.) is not required.

Prerequisites for membership in PAC are first-year standing, an interest in and a desire to learn about the performing arts, and a willingness to actively participate in the community, embracing new experiences.

Living/learning programs are defined as programs organized to introduce and integrate academic and social learning in residence hall settings through faculty involvement with the goal of an enriched learning experience for all participants. The Performing Arts Living/Learning program is open to freshmen who have an interest in any of the performing arts: ballet, band, chorus, jazz, musical theatre, orchestra, plays, and spoken word. Participants would:

The “Survey of the Performing Arts” course introduces the student to the experience of the performing arts and seeks to give an understanding of the history, cultural contexts and practices, and a deepening appreciation of the performing arts for members of the living/learning community. The primary focus will be on music, theater, and dance.
