Music Links

Participation in the performing arts has traditionally been an important aspect of Jesuit education. The music minor will appeal to students who desire a music concentration to supplement their chosen disciplinary major, both within the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication as well as across the university. Increased musical training will improve the performance quality of university ensembles that are often called upon to perform at university special events, increase Marquette University's profile within the Milwaukee and Wisconsin artistic community and serve to foster increased connections and collaborative opportunities with local professional musicians.

Ensemble performance courses — MUSI 10, MUSI 20 and MUSI 30 — will now be credit-generating courses that can be used to complete the minor. New courses will be added in music theory, conducting, carillon, music history, business of music and music technology.

Leadership Summit

The Student Leadership Summit is an annual conference open to all students but may be of particular interest to those with campus leadership roles, those who serve the community in some form, or those who aspire to incorporate acts of leadership and service in their daily lives. Check out the video from the 2009 Leadership Summit. To learn more information, go to the Leadership webpage.
