Student Safety Programs comprise several student-based security initiatives, including Campus Security Monitors,
LIMO (Local Intercampus Mobile Operation) and Safety Patrol. These programs are staffed by student employees who are trained in their functions and responsibilities. The primary objectives of Student Safety Programs are to provide to the Marquette community safety escorts and transports; observe and report suspicious and unusual activity to
Public Safety; and provide an active presence in the near-off-campus neighborhood.

LIMO
This program operates from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. seven days a week, year round. Up to 10 LIMO vans travel within an established service area that includes the campus and a large portion of the immediate off-campus area. Transportation to the Amtrak and Greyhound stations is also available. All Marquette affiliates may ride a LIMO by presenting a valid Marquette ID. Transports may also be obtained by picking up a Blue Light Phone, by calling (414) 288-6363 on any phone, by waiting at a designated LIMO stop (all residence halls, libraries and major buildings on campus) or by simply waving a van down while it is patrolling in the area.

Safety Patrol escorts
These escorts are available during the academic year and are provided nightly from 5 p.m. to midnight. Student employees patrol in pairs and are outfitted with two-way radios and flashlights and wear bright yellow jackets. You may stop a team while they are patrolling, use a Blue Light Phone or call (414) 288-6363 to obtain a safety escort.

Campus security monitors
This program provides fixed-post security at the Marquette Gym, Lot S and the Alumni Memorial Union during after-hours study hall. Campus security monitors also assist parking officers by identifying parking violators in university parking facilities.

Transport requests
Transports are available to Marquette affiliates who may be experiencing a mobility-impairing medical condition. Contact Public Safety at (414) 288-5625 for information.

Early-morning shuttle
The early-morning shuttle service is offered from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. daily. This safety service operates within the existing LIMO boundaries and is available to all Marquette affiliates. To use this service, call the Department of Public Safety at (414) 288-6800 from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. daily.

UPASS
Auxiliary Services administers the university’s UPASS program. Available to all full-time undergraduate students who have paid their Campus Community Fee, the UPASS allows all eligible students unlimited rides on Milwaukee County Transit System buses. To obtain a UPASS card, contact the Campus Card Office, AMU 158, or call (414) 288-3770.
