The Department of Public Safety maintains a daily log that records, by the date the incident was reported, all crimes and other serious incidents occurring on campus, within non-campus buildings or properties, on public property or within the department's patrol boundaries. The daily log is available for public inspection at the department's headquarters, located at 749 N. 16th St.

The daily log includes the nature, date, time and general location of each crime reported to the department, as well as the disposition of the complaint, if the information is known at the time of publication. The department posts incidents in the Campus Crime Log within two business days of receiving a report and reserves the right to exclude reports under certain circumstances. The below listed incidents have been forwarded to the Milwaukee Police Department.

#14-0879          Hit & Run Accident:  Property Damage Only; Occurred Thu., 7/24/14 between 4:52 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.  Reported Thu., 7/24/14 at 12:11 p.m.  A vehicle driven by an employee struck another employee’s parked, unattended vehicle in Structure One and left the scene.   Est. damage to the struck vehicle is $500.   MPD contacted.

OFF CAMPUS

#14-0880          Robbery; Occurred Thu., 7/24/14 at 4:50 p.m.  Reported Thu., 7/24/14 at 4:55 p.m. Two subjects not affiliated with Marquette forcibly removed property from another person not affiliated with Marquette in the 2200 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue and fled the scene.  The victim was not injured.  MPD contacted.

#14-0877              Harassment:  Occurred between 12:00 p.m. on Wed., 7/9/14 and 5:15 p.m. on Wed., 7/23/14; reported at 6:42 p.m. on Wed., 7/23/14.  A non-MU subject has been harassing a student employee at Eckstein Hall. 

OFF CAMPUS

#14-0878              Theft:  Occurred at 7:52 p.m. and reported at 9:13 p.m. on Wed., 7/23/14.  A student reported that an unknown subject removed her unsecured and unattended bicycle valued at $250 from the rear of her residence in the 900 block of N. 15th Street.

#14-0871          Theft Of Motor Vehicle:  Attempt; Occurred Tue., 7/22/14 at 3:15 a.m.  Reported Tue., 7/22/14 at 6:17 a.m.  A student reported that unknown person(s) forcibly entered her secured, unattended vehicle and attempted to remove the vehicle in a rear lot in the 900 block of N. 17th Street.  Est. damage to the vehicle is $1,000.  MPD contacted.

#14-0874          Prowling Violation & Violation Of Probation; Occurred and reported Tue., 7/22/14 at 10:04 p.m.  A person not affiliated with Marquette was prowling in the 2100 block of W. Clybourn.  The subject fled the scene but was located and physically detained by DPS.  MPD was contacted and cited the subject.

#14-0875          Theft From Motor Vehicle:  Forcible; Occurred Tue., 7/22/14 between 7:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m.  Reported Tue., 7/22/14 at 11:49 p.m.  A person not affiliated with Marquette reported that unknown person(s) smashed a window of her secured, unattended vehicle in the 500 block of N. 22nd Street and removed property est. at $20.  Est. damage to the vehicle is $150.  MPD contacted.

ON CAMPUS

#14-0860          Other Criminal Offenses & Loitering; Occurred and reported Sat., 7/19/14 at 9:46 a.m.  DPS observed a person not affiliated with Marquette loitering near Schroeder Complex. DPS verbally detained the subject and he was taken into custody by MPD for an outstanding warrant.

#14-0863          Misrepresentation of Age: Using Other Peron’s ID; Occurred and reported Sun., 7/20/14 at 1:30 a.m. A guest was in possession of a false ID while attempting to enter McCabe Hall.

#14-0864          Fire Alarm:  Criminal Act; Occurred and reported Sun., 7/20/14 at 1:53 a.m.  A fire alarm sounded for Humphrey Hall.  MFD was contacted and the building evacuated.  Upon investigation, it was determined that an unidentified subject activated a pull station without cause.  The alarm was reset and the building reopened.

OFF CAMPUS

#14-0857          Possession/Consumption Of Alcohol; Occurred and reported Fri., 7/18/14 at 2:13 p.m.  DPS observed a person not affiliated with Marquette consuming an alcoholic beverage on the city sidewalk in the 1500 block of W. State.  MPD was contacted and cited the subject.

#14-0859          Prowling Violation; Occurred and reported Sat., 7/19/14 at 5:53 a.m.  DPS observed a person not affiliated with Marquette prowling at the rear of a building in the 900 block of N. 15th Street.  DPS verbally detained the subject and he was taken into custody by MPD.

#14-0861          Theft; Occurred Fri., 7/18/14 between 9:15 a.m. and 9:17 a.m.  Reported Sat., 7/19/14 at 10:28 a.m.  A person not affiliated with Marquette reported that unknown person(s) removed his unsecured, unattended cell phone est. at $400 from the Milwaukee Public Library in the 800 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue. 

#14-0862          Burglary; Occurred Sat., 7/19/14 between 8:40 a.m. and 9:05 a.m.  Reported Sat., 7/19/14 at 10:09 a.m.  An alumna reported that unknown person(s) removed property est. at $2,000 from her unsecured, unattended residence in the 900 block of N. 19th Street.  MPD contacted.

#14-0865          Battery; Occurred and reported Sun. 7/20/14 at 2:52 a.m.  A person not affiliated with Marquette punched a non-MU acquaintance in the face and fled the scene in the 1600 block of W. Wells.  Medical assistance declined.  MPD contacted.
