Welcome to the Marquette University Department of Public Safety website. Our site represents not only a glimpse at the ways in which we maintain a safe and secure environment for our community members; it also represents us – the men and women of Public Safety. Please take a moment to explore all that Public Safety has to offer.

Several years ago, when I accepted the position of director, I made some promises - one to the dedicated group of men and women that comprise the Department of Public Safety and one to myself. I let the officers, staff members and student employees know that together we would soon be acknowledged as setting the standard in excellence among campus safety departments. We would set our sights on nothing less than being the best. Together, with a lot of hard work, we are achieving that goal. From our innovative patrol operations, to the excellent Student Safety Programs; from our educational outreach programming efforts to the leading-edge technological advances we employ, we have and will continue to strive for excellence.

The promise I made to myself was more personal. As a parent, I believe that no other parent should experience even a moment of hesitation in allowing a son or daughter to begin his or her own journey. I’m here to ensure that every member of our community can grow and succeed in a safe environment and that everyone will be treated with the utmost care and professionalism.
