Military Instructor
MSG Jaeckel enlisted in the Army on July 19, 1989 He went to Ft. Benning, GA. for Basic Training, Infantry A.I.T., and Basic Airborne Course. He was then sent to A company 1/509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Chaffe Arkansas (OPFOR for the Joint Readiness Training Center) While there he served as Rifleman, Squad Automatic Rifleman, M60 Machine Gunner and as Rifle Team Leader. In July of 1993 he was then sent to A co. 1/325 Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC. There he attended the Advanced Airborne School. (Jumpmaster Course). He served as Rifle Team Leader, Squad Leader, and the S-3 Air NCO. . In March of 1997 he was then sent to C co. 2/35th Infantry, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. There He attended the Air Assault Course and served as Squad Leader, Weapons Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant. In July of 2000 he was sent back to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, this time to A co. 1/504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. While there he supported Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002 and Operation Iraqi Freedom Twice 2003/04 and 2005/06. He also became a member of the 82nd Airborne Divisions Centurion Club by executing over 100 static line jumps from Army and Air Force aircraft. He served as Squad Leader, Weapons Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant and BN S-3 Air NCO. In July 2006 he was assigned to Marquette University as a Military Science Instructor.
Awards and Decorations include Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Iraqi and Afghanistan campaign medals, The Global war on Terrorism Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, The Meritorious Unit Citation, The Superior Unit Award, The Expert Infantryman’s Badge, The Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Novice, Senior, and Master Parachutist Badges, The Air Assault Badge, and The German Parachutist Badge.
