Recruitment Operations & National Guard Liaison
Sergeant First Class Richard Santiago enlisted in the Active Duty Army in June of 1987. He went to Basic Training at Fort Bliss, TX. After Basic Training, he attended the Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX where he received training as a 91K, Medical Laboratory Specialist and assigned to USAMEDDAC.
His Active Duty assignments include, one at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI, one at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., and one at Kimbrough Army Medical Hospital, Fort George G. Meade, MD.
SFC Santiago left the Active Duty Army in June 1993. He moved to Milwaukee, WI, to work at Elmbrook Hospital in Brookfield, WI. In June 1995, he was appointed and hired as a Milwaukee Police Officer where he attended the Milwaukee Safety Academy’s Police Training Program. While with the Milwaukee Police Department, SFC Santiago worked on various assignments and units within the Police Department.
In July 2002, SFC Santiago enlisted in the Wisconsin Army National Guard as a 91K and was assigned to Co B 118th Medical Battalion in Waukesha, WI. He was also assigned to Co C (C-Med) 132nd Support BN, Milwaukee, WI.
His military education has included Medical Laboratory Training, Primary Leadership Development Course, Strength Maintenance Training Course for Recruiting & Retention, Army Basic Noncommissioned Officer’s Course Phase One, AMEDD Army Basic Noncommissioned Officer’s Course Phase Two, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course.
