All incoming freshmen participate in our New Student Orientation (NSO). This program will this year will run from 17 August to 22 August 2012. It serves as an introduction to our NROTC Program here at Marquette and culminates with an oath of office ceremony on the last day. It is not a 'boot camp'. The freshmen will get an introduction to drill, receive classroom instruction, and participate in physical training. It is important to arrive at orientation in excellent physical conditioning. All incoming freshman will also be expect to pass a swimming proficiency test and qualify third class swimmer. This swim test includes the following:

Room and board is provided for all incoming scholarship and college program students. New students will not be allowed to move into their dorm rooms until the completion of New Student Orientation. Students should report between 1200-1300 on the 17th. The brief for the parents will be held at 1300 on the 17th. An oath of office ceremony will be held on the 22nd at 1000
