MUEngage is the new community engagement tracking program for Marquette University. Within the Service Learning Program, MUEngage replaces the in-person sign-up night. Students can now sign up for service learning online, record their impacts (i.e. service learning hours, projects and presentations) and register for reflection sessions.
This page provides a general overview of the service learning program sign-up process, important forms and other important information about MUEngage. Students can email servicelearning@marquette.edu with questions or concerns.
Service Learning Sign-Up/Registration
Signing up on time for service learning is extremely important. The sign-up window to choose a Service Learning Site is September 4th - September 11th. Signing up on time allows students and community agencies the proper time to connect, establish expectations, and build a relationship. Therefore, after September 11th, late sign-ups will be considered but not guaranteed until September 27th and will have to be done by making an appointment with the Assistant Director, Eddie Godina. Students will be placed in an appropriate site. After September 27th, the student will be responsible for securing their own placement or will need to drop the class.
Registration for service learning opens the second Wednesday of the semester at 12 p.m. Students should log in to their MUEngage account and register for service learning in their course group. Registration lasts a week. During that time, students can change sites or consult with a Service Learning Program staff member to find an organization that fits with their schedule and interests. Students are encouraged to review available opportunities BEFORE registration opens. Information in MUEngage is updated daily before registration opens.
Once students register, they will receive a follow-up email from a student coordinator with detailed instructions on next steps. The email will include organization contact information, orientation information, additional paperwork and/or training requirements. It is the students' responsibility to get all required paperwork and trainings completed before they start their service.
