There is a very distinct atmosphere at Service Learning. I am surrounded by people who are socially and culturally conscientious. The staff is dedicated to becoming agents for social change and they encourage others to transform themselves, their ideas, and the world.
I hope that my fellow students will understand the importance of service and how it is relevant to their own classes and classroom experience. Full comprehension and knowledge inside the classroom requires hands on experience. Understanding how things are at our sites and then understanding why in our classroom. Service learning is a key component of our growth as scholars and as people.
