Description of Agency: The Child Development Center of St. Joseph is an early education non-profit school for children on the south side of Milwaukee. We provide family-focused early childhood education within a Christian-oriented environment for children from infancy through kindergarten. Sponsors, administrators, teachers and staff are dedicated to providing quality programming that develops the whole child while ministering to families.
Role that Service Learners Will Play: Students will assist teachers with either the infants and toddlers, or the school aged children, depending on their major and preference. Service Learners with school aged children will assist teachers in the classroom and help the children during their math and literacy periods, and Service Learners with the early childcare will assist teachers with arts and crafts, serving food, helping wash hands, and playing with them.
Commitment: Service Learners must get a TB test and fill out the application form and a background check before starting service, (and before orientation). Students will then bring the completed forms to the orientation.
