Description of Agency: Notre Dame Middle School (NDMS) is a Catholic school for young women sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. Following in the Christian tradition, Notre Dame fosters respect, responsibility, and sharing of personal talents, and prepares students for admittance to a college preparatory high school. In a bi-literate (English an Spanish) setting, with emphasis on leadership skills, critical thinking, and social justice, young women are empowered to make positive contributions to society.
NDMS has two programs that set it apart from other schools: the Enrichment Program and the Graduate Support Program.
Commitment: 2-3 hours per week, every week for the entire semester, plus orientation. Service Learners are also required to attend a one-time, 3 hour class entitled "Safeguarding All of God's Family," an initial training for Safe Environment Education as mandated by the Archdiocese (not included in Service Learning hours).
For more information, see the Notre Dame Middle School Website.
