- Women students only: Monday AODA support group 6:00pm-7:30pm
- Computer help (online search and e-mail set up): Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:00am-11:00am
- Men students only: Wednesday, 1:00pm-3:00pm; Thursday, 11:00am-1:00pm
- All students welcome: Tuesday and Thursday flexible times from 8:30am-5:00pm
Description of Agency/Activities: Project RETURN was designed to aid in reducing recidivism of ex-offenders by providing services viewed as necessary for adjustment back into mainstream society. Services address needs of housing, family/community connections, education, job development, and personal well-being.
Student Role in Agency:
- Main Office Assistance/Tutors: Service Learners will phone ex-offenders and track progress in the work force and other social areas. There are also numerous opportunities for tutoring clients in basic computer literacy-helping clients with applications such as Word and Excel, internet usage and online employment searches. Literacy tutoring in reading/writing, preparation for the GED, or in the completion of college course work is sometimes needed.
Commitment: One half hour orientation, plus 2-3 hours per week.
